Private hire - Theatre, studios and rooms

All areas of Berkhamsted Arts Centre are available to hire.

The Theatre area is a versatile space with flexible seating, air-conditioning, full lighting and sound. It can be tailored to suit your needs for rehearsals, performances, shows and workshops. Together with a fully licensed bar serving hot beverages as well as alcoholic drinks and snacks, it makes the perfect venue for social events, music gigs and parties. We have five studio spaces, fully air conditioned with mirrors and barres, some with sprung floors. All have WIFI and Bluetooth sound systems.

There is also a meeting room available with a projector and screen, and a Therapy Room with hydraulic treatment couch available to hire, either long term or for one-off sessions.

There is limited free parking directly in front of the Centre and most of Northbridge Road has free on-street parking, subject to availability.

We ask our patrons to please park responsibly and with consideration to other road and Centre users. Thank you.


We have a disabled access ramp to the front entrance and throughout the Centre at ground floor level, including the Theatre and Bar areas. There is also a disabled toilet facility.

We can reserve wheelchair spaces in the Theatre – pleased contact the Centre to make arrangements when booking a ticket, and if you require a seat for a carer.

Please contact the Centre if you require parking close to the Centre as we will endeavour to reserve a car parking space for you. This is limited and subject to availability, so please enquire in good time.

Ticket booking

  • All tickets are subject to availability
  • In person at Berkhamsted Arts Centre Monday - Friday 9am – 3pm (excluding Bank Holidays)
  • Tickets can be brought up to half an hour before start of screening. Cards and Cash accepted.

  • Seating for most events is unallocated.
  • Bar opens 45 minutes before, and serves hot and cold drinks as well as alcoholic beverages
  • Concessions are available on some performances and apply to under 16yrs and NUS card holders (proof must be provided)
  • Disabled persons with carers should contact the Centre direct to arrange tickets, and to reserve a wheelchair space
  • Babes in Arms will only be permitted for certain performances/screenings – please contact the Centre direct to enquire. All Babes in Arms will be required to purchase a special ticket, on the door, for £2, and will only be admitted to U or PG certificate screenings/ shows, and can then sit on Parent or Guardian’s lap.

Arts Centre Terms & Conditions

  • Children are welcome to Berkhamsted Arts Centre and The Vyne Theatre for our screenings and events; however some shows may not be suitable. We will always endeavour to clearly indicate age suitability but we cannot accept responsibility if patrons do find an event or screening unsuitable for their children, as we are governed by the incoming production companies own recommended age suitability and certification. We suggest contacting the Centre if you are unsure. All children must purchase a ticket for a seat.
  • Berkhamsted Arts Centre has a no smoking policy (including e-cigarettes) throughout all areas.
  • All patrons must hold a valid ticket for the event to comply with Fire and Safety regulations.
  • To avoid disturbing the audience or performers, latecomers will not be permitted entry until there is a suitable break, and only at the discretion of Front of House staff.
  • No recording devices or cameras (including mobile phones) will be allowed into any event unless agreed beforehand with the management team, and Berkhamsted Arts Centre reserve the right to refuse admission to any part of the Centre, including the Vyne Theatre, if deemed necessary.
  • All ticket holders and patrons consent to filming and sound recordings as members of the audience. Please contact the Centre if you have a query.
  • In line with other theatres, Berkhamsted Arts Centre regrets that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded except where an event has had to be cancelled. Please contact the Centre if you have a query and we will endeavour to resolve the issue.
  • To enable us to provide the best possible service with ticket purchasing, our ticketing records and information are held on computer. We do not sell or pass on your names and addresses to third parties without your permission. The information is only used to keep you informed of forthcoming events and screenings, or to inform you of any changes affecting the event or your booking, and you will always have the option to opt out of the mailing list if you do not wish to receive further information from Berkhamsted Arts Centre.

The Vyne Dance Academy - Terms and conditions

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

The Vyne Dance Academy take the holding of personal information very seriously, and all personal data is securely held, and will not be revealed, passed on or sold to third parties without prior consent. What information do we hold:

  • Name – of student, and parent if student is under 18yrs, for class registers (and to comply with Health and Safety Regulations in case of emergencies).
  • Address – for purposes of accounting compliance, records/registration and exam registrations.
  • Telephone number – for emergency contact whilst the student is on Berkhamsted Arts Centre premises.
  • Photographs – for ID compliance for examinations by examining boards for verification as we are an Exam Centre, not a school.
  • Medical Information – to make Vyne Dance Academy Staff aware of any specific needs or requirements of student when attending classes, courses or workshops at Berkhamsted Arts Centre, including but not limited to Medical Conditions, Allergies, Injuries.
  • Accident/Incident records – to log any accident or incident whilst on site for the purposes of compliance with Health and Safety, and Child Protection Policy.

By agreeing to our terms and conditions when enrolling onto any Vyne Dance Academy course, you agree to us using your contact details for the following purposes:

  • Communication through emails and newsletters, and telephone as required.
  • To send information regarding The Vyne Dance Academy and Berkhamsted Arts Centre relevant to our students.
  • To process payments.
  • For record keeping for tax and accounting compliance.

If you change your mind at any time, you can send an email to with the word ‘STOP’ in the subject line and we will remove you from our database.

Fees, registration and payment terms
  • Fees are charged termly and will vary according to the number of weeks in each term.
  • All fees are due by the end of the second week of term. Students will be unable to participate in class until such time as fees are settled. Please ensure fees are paid by the due date.
  • Any late payments of fees will be automatically subject to a 5% surcharge.
  • Adult classes have the option to either ‘Pay On Day’ at £10 per 45-60mins class or termly.
  • A half-term’s (or 6 weeks minimum) notice is required IN WRITING via email to when leaving ANY Vyne Dance Academy class to avoid a charge of 6 weeks fees in lieu of notice.
  • Missed classes can be made up by joining another Academy class only within the same term.
  • In the event of a class being cancelled, students will be offered a credit voucher.
  • Student Registration is £25 when enrolling onto an Academy course, including Adults classes, and is valid whilst attending the Vyne Dance Academy.
  • Renewal of enrolment, following a break of over 12 months, is subject to an admin fee of £10.
Vyne Dance Academy policy and dance etiquette
  • The Vyne Dance Academy is committed to providing the highest possible standard of teaching to both Children and Adults, and is open to all, and we welcome prospective students from 3 years and above, no age limit!
  • All students are expected to behave in an appropriate and polite manner at all times. Vyne Teachers, at their own discretion, may deny entry or expel students from class, who they consider display inappropriate behaviour, with immediate effect with no recourse for reimbursement of payments made.
  • All students are required to wear Academy uniform to all classes.Uniform is available to buy to through our Dancewear Shop on site.
  • Teachers are DBS checked, and may on occasion use appropriate physical contact when required for the purposes of teaching dance.
  • Students are given the opportunity to participate in graded exams at the Teacher’s discretion, and follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus in Ballet, or Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabus in Modern and Tap, which will incur additional exam and booster class fees.
  • The Vyne Dance Academy also invites students to enrol onto the GCSE course which have a different set of criteria and fees – please enquire.
  • Full attendance is expected and required for rehearsals and shows, out of respect to the Teachers and other students.
  • The Vyne Dance Academy will communicate via email to keep you informed of cases, upcoming shows or key dates, or any other information or news pertaining to the Vyne Dance Academy or Berkhamsted Arts Centre. We need to make you aware that if you are not on the mailing list, you will not receive such information and you may therefore miss out on important information, exam dates, etc.
  • Vyne is not responsible for loss or damage to belongings, or any medical injury sustained by students/visitors on or off the premises.
